Downtown Kia in the Community
Downtown Kia in Vancouver is proud to be a member of the Vancouver community. As a relative newcomer to our location at 2430 Burrard Street, we want people to understand that we're more than just about selling cars. We care about people.
The past number of months have been challenging times for many during the recent COVID-19 crisis around the world. Downtown Kia knew we had to find ways to help those who may have found themselves marginalized due to the health pandemic. Here are a few ways that Downtown Kia gave back.
Helping those in the local community who may have been struggling during the COVID-19 crisis.
For the month of May, Downtown Kia donated $100 to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank for every vehicle sold during the month. We were proud to be able help out those in the community in such a tangible way. #downtownkiahelps
The Greater Vancouver Food Bank was set up as a temporary relief to the hunger crisis in 1983, but that need still exists today. It receives no ongoing government funding and exists solely through the generosity of the public, industry partners, and applicable grants. Each week, it provides healthy food to over 8,500+ clients in need, and approximately 80 Community Agency Partners across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore. Its mission is to provide healthy food to those in need.
In March 2020, the world was changed dramatically with the spread of the COVID-19 virus. There was much unknown but, one thing we did know was that disinfecting hands and surfaces to battle the virus was a necessity to keep people healthy and safe.
Downtown Kia partnered with Parallel 49 Brewing Company in Vancouver to deliver much needed hand sanitizer to those places in need. Downtown Kia delivered boxes of custom-made sanitizer, exclusively developed by Parallel 49 Brewing Company, to charities and non-profits around Vancouver.
We were proud to be a part of this great initiative and thankful to be able to help in our own small way. #downtownkiahelps
